Before you start a mini or large scale exportation business in Nigeria, it is advisable you obtain an license from the Nigeria Export Promotion Council ( NEPC), the government agencies saddled with the issuance of licenses to exporters in Nigeria.
Having an export license allow you to export agricultural commodities, package foods, manufactured products and solid minerals legally from Nigeria to buyers in other countries.
Obtaining an export license in Nigeria has become very easy, all you need to do is to visit the Nigeria Export Promotion Council ( NEPC) E-registration website and get the export license.
Requirement for Obtaining Export License In Nigeria.
Here are the registration requirements and procedures you have to follow in order to obtain a license from NEPC for the export of Cashew nuts, Ginger roots, Cocoa, Charcoal, and others:
1. Your business must be duly registered as a limited liability company (LTD) with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or You are a member of a cooperative society.
2. You must tender a copy of your company’s certificate of incorporation as evidence.
3. Pay N13,500 as the required fee for obtaining a new export license in Nigeria.
Documents Needed To Obtain An Export License In Nigeria.
1. Present a Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association for your registered business with CAC.
2. Present a Copy of Form CAC 1.1 – “section C” (Particulars of Directors).
3. Present a copy of your business board resolution to register company with the NEPC (Company Seal affixed)
How To Obtain Export License In Nigeria (Step by Step Guide)
1. Visit NEPC website ( www.nepc.gov.ng ) and click “E – Registration category” on the website Menu bar.2. Read the registration guidelines/procedures and afterward, you will need to Create an account by filling in your Name, Email address and password; and then click “Register”
3. Login into your dashboard and click on “Register New Certificate”
4. Fill in the details of the Company you want get an Export License for.
5. Choose the type of Company ( a Limited liability Company or a cooperative society) and then upload the relevant documents listed above in the requirements for obtaining an export license.
6. After that Click on “Preview” to review the information supplied in the registration Form you filled, then click on “Submit and proceed to payment”
7. An invoice is generated; then click on “Make payment” Pay N13,500 with Naira master Card via Remita and submit payment
8. Copy the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR) and choose your preferred method of payment.
9. The Nigeria Export Promotion Council ( NEPC) will process your Export license after confirmation of payment and documentation. And if your registration is successful, you will receive an Email notification within 72 hours that your Export License is ready for pick up.
10. After receiving the mail notification, go to your account dashboard on the NEPC website to download a copy of the export license and print it out.
